Police have doubled the reward money for information leading to the arrest of wanted man John Heald to £10,000. At a press conference today Shaun Wright, the South Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner, announced he would add £5,000 to the amount already offered by Crimestoppers. It comes as new CCTV footage of Heald, who is wanted in connection with the murder of Bei Carter in Bridlington, was released yesterday. It shows Heald in B&M Bargains in Mexborough at 4.15pm last Saturday – the day after Mrs Carter, 49, was stabbed once in the chest at the Morayland Hotel in Marshall Avenue, which she ran with husband Terry. Heald, who is 53 and from the Rotherham area, is wanted by Humberside Police in connection with her murder. He is also wanted by South Yorkshire Police in connection with a serious sexual offence in Sheffield on Sunday, July 13. Heald has been described as "dangerous" and should not be approached by the public. Anybody who sees him should call 999 immediately or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
