MILLIONS of TV viewers tuned in to watch Hull gold medalist Luke Campbell make his debut on Dancing On Ice last night.
The ITV1 show, which starts in two parts, saw the boxer and professional skater Jenna Harrison enter the rink.
Six of the 12 celebrity contestants showed off their skills, but Luke and the other five stars have until Sunday to perfect their moves, before their first routines in front of the judges.
Presenter Phillip Schofield asked Luke what he found different between skating and boxing.
"I'm good at boxing," he joked. "I'm out of my comfort zone here."
Fans are yet to see him perform a routine but the ladies already think his skating attire suits him.
Female Twitter users said he looked "perfect" in a gold sequined tank top and black trousers as he skated onto the rink.
Although Luke seems to have taken to the ice well, it is risky business for the 25-year-old father of two.
He told press he fears a wrist injury on the show could end his sporting career.
"It's scary but it's one of those things," Luke said. "I knew what I was getting into when I signed up.
"I've had a few bumps and falls. I was a bit worried about my wrists because you need them for punching.
"I've been wearing wrist protectors but they got in the way when I was lifting my partner."
He has now got rid of the guards and says it has helped with his performance on the ice.
Luke's skating coach has also told him if he had started when he was young he could have been an Olympic skater.
"That was a great confidence boost for me," he said.
The contestants who performed on the show last night were Baywatch beauty Pamela Anderson, TV personality Keith Chegwin and X Factor winner Shayne Ward.
Also on the ice were actress Samia Ghadie, Olympic gymnast Beth Tweddle and actor Matt Lapinska.
Coaches Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean showed the skaters how it was done and said the contestants are the best they have ever had.
Fans now have their fingers crossed for Luke and hope he will KO the other skaters when voting lines close.
After the show aired, Luke took to Twitter to thank his fans, saying: "Really appreciated all your support. Thank u to all of you!"
