THE Michael Dawson saga rumbles on, and talkSPORT say Crystal Palace and West Ham have been placed on red alert after Steve Bruce revealed the Tigers have reached a stalemate over a move to sign the Spurs skipper. The Tottenham captain was strongly expected to make a move back to Yorkshire and complete a move to City after weeks of uncertainty surrounding his future. Dawson looks to be heading through the exit door at White Hart Lane following the arrival of Mauricio Pochettino as Tottenham's new head coach. But after Bruce's revelation during the Tigers' training camp in Portugal, City are playing the waiting game for Dawson. The experienced defender is determined to secure a regular first-team place next season but he appears to be at odds with the north London club over his pay-off as he is due a testimonial in January following his ten-year stay. If the two parties can strike a deal, both Tony Pulis and Sam Allardyce could be ready to make their move for the 30-year-old.Alex Bruce to Leeds 'makes perfect sense' RUMOURS rose at the weekend linking Alex Bruce with a return to Leeds United, with the Sunday People the main culprit. The defender has grown in stature at the KC Stadium and played just over half of last season in the Premier League, but City are well-known to be on the look-out for defensive recruitments. Now, Leeds United blogger Amitai Winehouse has written on Squawka how bringing Bruce back to Elland Road 'makes perfect sense'. "Alex Bruce's career has gone from strength to strength. Steve Bruce senior crafted a side at the KC Stadium that was built for promotion, and they achieved it with relative ease, finishing in second," he wrote. "The contrast between Bruce's past and present could not have been more obvious than when Warnock's side travelled to Hull that season, mustering up only one shot over the course of the match, which was offside anyway. "Bruce went on to make 20 appearances in the Premier League last season and also played for Hull in the FA Cup final at Wembley. "There is a sense that his departure is fairly inevitable, given Hull's attempt to establish themselves in the country's top division. He was linked with a move back to Elland Road by the Sunday People at the weekend. "Bruce would, it has to be said, be an improvement on the club's current players in defence. Tom Lees was hugely criticised last season for his displays, and he certainly did not perform to the level that he has achieved in the past. "Pearce was one of few players to emerge from the season with any credit, but is a completely different defender to Bruce." Do you think Alex will make the switch to West Yorkshire? The Canaries have already been forced to sell Robert Snodgrass, their top goal-scorer from last season, to the Tigers following their relegation to the Championship. Former City target Gary Hooper has also been linked with a move away from Carrow Road and back to the top flight, and Adams has admitted that a time will come later in the transfer window when the interest in his key names becomes too much for Norwich to resist. "There is only four weeks to the league season and I am sure there will be enquiries for lads who were playing in the Premier League last season," he said. "Unfortunately, there comes a point in the Championship where if the offer is too good to turn down, that is the situation we are now in – Robert Snodgrass being the example. "Did I want to lose him? No. He had one year left on his contract and the money we received was good business. "The reality is everyone has a price. If people are going to come in and the money is right then we have to look at it, but we have stressed we don't want to lose players and anything else at the moment is speculation. "Clubs are bound to come looking for our best players. That is the unfortunate side of relegation. We would probably have been doing the same thing if we had stayed up." Perhaps City will look to poach once again?
