An elderly woman has died after a four-car crash on the A1079 between Dunswell and Beverley.
The 75-year-old woman was taken to Hull Royal Infirmary after the accident at 2.15pm on Tuesday, but died this morning.
She was a passenger in a Suzuki Liana, which was involved in the accident along with a Range Rover Sport, a Ford Fiesta and a Land Rover Discovery, close to the Swift Caravans roundabout.
A 77-year-old man who was driving the Suzuki was badly hurt, but it is believed his injuries are not life-threatening.
A 60-year-old woman who was driving the Range Rover is being treated at Hull Royal Infirmary for broken ribs, while the driver of the Ford Fiesta, a 35-year-old woman, suffered minor injuries.
The road was closed between Dunswell and Beverley until 10pm, causing long delays for motorists during yesterday evening's rush hour.
