Hull's Luke Campbell made his first appearance on Dancing on Ice tonight - but has yet the take to the ice.
The gold medal-winning bantamweight boxer will perform his first routine next Sunday with his partner Jenna Nicole Smith, who is making her debut on the show.
Celebrities who did perform included Coronation Street actress Samia Ghadie, Baywatch star Pamela Anderson and TV legend Keith Chegwin, who was forced out of last year's show due to injury.
Next week, Luke will be up against the likes of reality TV star Lauren Goodger, from The Only Way is Essex.
When interviewed by Philip Schofield on tonight's show, Luke admitted he was "out of his comfort zone" but has previously said he won't be phased on the ice: 'I'm used to performing –so not worried about that - every time I enter the ring it's a performance and nerve wracking, but it's the nerves that give you that great adrenaline'.
And having recently become a Dad for the second time, he has stated he wants to make his boys proud. "I want to be the determined one, I want to win. I want to show young kids that with hard work and determination, you can reach your goals."
Even without performing there was plenty of support on twitter for Luke, who has already appealed for his Hull fans to rally behind him.
