HULL KR chief executive Mike Smith says plenty of work still to do to help with the creation of the Peter 'Flash' Flanagan memorial statue.
After the hooker's death in 2007, local sculptor Steve Winterburn set to work on a design which has received glowing praise from the family. However, relevant funding remains to be sought.
Set to be built at the KC Lightstream Stadium once the remaining funding is in place, Smith is exploring further options to see the statue's completion.
"We are thrilled that the project has reached this stage but there is still plenty of work to do in terms of fundraising," he said.
"We are currently exploring further options to help raise the funds needed to get over the finish line.
"We have raised a sizeable amount so far and we'd like to thank each supporter who has already dipped into their own pockets to help fund the statue of Flash, but there is still a fair way still to go."
