Christian and Bella Buhlmann, of Beverley Road, came down to watch the race with Bella's children Ryan and Billy Dalziel. Mr Buhlmann, 27, said: "We have seen the Tour de France on television and decided to come down and watch the racing. "It is good to have something like this in Hull. I think events like this are the way forward." Hull City Council's portfolio holder for leisure and culture Terry Geraghty helped bring the cycling event to Hull. He said: "I am very pleased with how it has gone. We have had a decent crowd despite the fact it is mid week. "I spoke to the winners of the women's race and they said it was the best course they have ridden on."
