A DRIVER has died after he crashed his car into a wall in Beverley.
The man, in his 80s, died at the scene after his car left the road and crashed with the wall of a house garage along Newbegin.
The road was closed at its junctions with Lairgate and St Mary's Terrace after the emergency services arrived at the scene earlier this morning.
A Humberside Police spokesman said: "Humberside Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision at 11am today on Newbegin.
"Officers were called to the scene by the ambulance service.
"The incident involved a single red Ford B-Max car which left the road and collided with the wall of a house garage.
"The driver, a man in his 80s, unforunately died at the scene."
Anyone who witnessed the crash, or saw the car prior to the collision, is asked to call the police on 101, quoting log reference 202 of 09/07/2014.
