Road closures in Hull today ahead British Cycling National Circuit Race Championships

ONE of the highlights of the elite road racing calendar rolls into Hull today. Temporary road closures will be in place from noon to midnight for the British Cycling National Circuit Race Championships. Spectators will see the best of British cycling battling it out on the 1.1km city course, for the chance to wear the iconic red, white and blue national champions' jerseys for the next year. The following roads will close from 12 noon today:• King Edward Street from Story Street to Victoria Square• Jameson Street from Bond Street to Ferensway• Queens Dock Avenue from Vernon Street to Alfred• Gelder Street• Alfred Gelder Street from Queens Dock Avenue to Lowgate• Carr Lane to the junction of Anne Street• Anlaby Road from Ferensway to Carr Lane• Vernon Street, Paragon Street, Chariot Street, South Street, Paragon Square Both the men's and women's titles will be decided tonight, with the women's race starting at 6.15pm and the men's at 8.15pm. The start and finish points of the race will be in Queen Victoria Square. Cyclists will ride down Queens Dock Avenue, Jameson Street and South Street, before turning onto Carr Lane to the finish.
