CHAIRMAN Neil Hudgell plans to start discussions about the Hull KR recruitment drive for next season with caretaker coach Chris Chester.
Chester has been given the final nine games of this season to make the job his own and started brilliantly by beating league-leaders St Helens 40-10 on Sunday.
At this time of the season, clubs traditionally step up their hunt for new blood, knowing time is of the essence.
If they leave it until the off season, the players they want will have secured their futures elsewhere.
With this in mind, Hudgell will sit down with Chester to discuss the club's plans for next season, but there may not be as many new faces arrive as this season when eight new players joined the Robins.
"We are ninth in the table and that was on the back of what we thought was a really good recruitment just slightly under the salary cap," Hudgell said.
"The coach recruits players, the chairman and the board give a budget. That has always been the case.
"My message to the fans is that we are going to be active.
"We are hopefully going to recruit quality rather than quantity.
"It won't be knee jerk because the season doesn't start for seven months."
Rovers have lost three players this season with Sean Gleeson retiring, Wayne Ulugia sacked and Jonny Walker being released from his contract early.
