ONE target Hull City will miss out on this summer is Swansea's Ashley Williams. The defender has signed a new four-year contract at the Liberty Stadium as the Swans made it clear they wanted to tie down their club captain. Sunderland, QPR, the Tigers and Arsenal had all been linked to the 29-year-old, but now Garry Monk has moved swiftly to brush off any interest elsewhere. Last month, The Mirror reported that Bruce was ready to offer £5m to prize the defender away from the Liberty Stadium, but Williams has told the club's official website he wants to see Swansea progress further. "I'm delighted to sign a new contract at Swansea City," said Williams. "I've enjoyed fantastic success at this club and I want to keep helping Swansea City progress." City will now look to focus their attention on securing Spurs defender Michael Dawson, with talks expected in the near future.Stoke to step in for Ince?STOKE City could look to hijack Tom Ince's proposed move to the KC Stadium as the Potters moved closer in the betting stakes. Now priced at just 2/1 with SkyBet, Mark Hughes' side may pounce on Ince's stuttering deal. The Tigers held positive talks with Ince and his representatives earlier this week, but it is well known that the winger is prepared to keep his options open as he has 'unfinished business' in the Premier League.QPR and Everton are the next clubs in line as far as betting goes, but it seems as though it is a two-horse race between City and Stoke for Ince's signature.Tigers in pole position for Robertson? THE ball is very much in Hull City's court today with regards to the possible signing of Dundee United's Andy Robertson.West Ham had wanted to take the Scotland starlet from the Scottish Premiership side, but after having a £1.5m bid turned down, they yesterday completed a £2.25m move for Ipswich defender Aaron Creswell on a five-year deal. The Hammers beat off competition for the highly-rated left-back from West Brom, Crystal Palace and Fulham. Back to Robertson, and contact has been made between City and Dundee with regards to a possible move in the past 48 hours.Fryatt reveals reasons for moving on AND finally, Matty Fryatt has given his first interview since joining Nottingham Forest from the Tigers. Speaking to the Nottingham Post, the former City favourite says the lure of first-team football wasn't the reason for signing for Forest, but the repeated approaches by several Reds managers was too hard to turn down this time around. "It wasn't even that (the lure of first team football), no. I was not guaranteed a place at Hull, but I won't be at Forest either. It does not work like that in football now," he said. "You have to deserve your place. You would hope that I would get more games here, but nothing is guaranteed. "I hope I will be involved more here, we will have to see. If I give it my all, if I do as well as I hope I can do, then I hope I will be involved in a lot more games." He continued: "It was about nine years ago that it (Fryatt signing for Forest) was first mentioned, I think, when Gary Megson was manager. "It has been a long time coming! "There have been a few Forest managers since (who have had an interest). I started when I was at Walsall, before I moved to Leicester. "I am glad it has finally happened and I am here now." Check out the full interview here.
