Claiming his eyes have been opened by his first dealings with agents and clubs this season, Radford says the experience has only reinforced his belief further that Hull need to be bringing through their own players.
Having handed debuts to Jordan Abdull and Callum Lancaster this season.
With several of the club's under-19s close to making the step up, Hull will turn their focus to bringing even more through to avoid the pitfalls of protracted and not always successful, searches for new players.
"It's my first time round recruiting and it's opened my eyes a little bit because the goal posts move on one or two occasions," Radford told the Mail.
"It's advertised the fact we need to bring our own through as well and the more we can bring through ourselves the better. We need to nurture our own."
Hull are expected to confirm first-team deals for Abdull and Lancaster for next season, with several of their under-19s team-mates such as Brad Fash and Jack Downs also looking to make the step up.
The Black and Whites have invested heavily in a new youth training set-up at their Bishop Burton College base and hope to start reaping those rewards further next year.
