CONTROVERSIAL Australian stand-off Todd Carney could find it difficult to secure a Super League club after Hull FC and Salford Red Devils ruled out having any interest.
Named as international player of the year in 2010, his career is once again in the balance after he was sacked for the third time.
The 28-year-old's contract with Cronulla was terminated on Sunday after a photograph circulated on social media of him drinking his own urine.
The Cronulla No.6 was photographed allegedly sampling his No.1 at a hotel urinal, sparking a social media storm and swift action by club officials. Huddersfield Giants' attempt to sign him in 2008 failed when he was unable to obtain a visa due to his drink-driving offences.
Now, Hull and Salford insist they have no interest in signing the disgraced NRL half-back.
Hull FC football manager Motu Tony said "It's a shame for the lad with what's happened as I watched him on Friday against Brisbane and he went pretty well.
"I can't really say that we want to sign him because we are already too far down the line with a couple of other players.
"He would certainly be a good signing for someone, but I doubt that would be us."
"We have no interest in Todd Carney," added Marwan Koukash to bring a quick end to speculation on Twitter.
After being sacked by Canberra for alcohol-related misdemeanours, Carney spent the 2009 season playing park football in far north Queensland before returning to the NRL in 2010 with Sydney Roosters.
Carney helped the Roosters reach the Grand Final that year and was named player of the year by the Rugby League International Federation but was sacked 12 months later for breaking an alcohol ban.
