Hull FC coach Lee Radford admitted it was 'pleasing' to take a point away from their trip to Wakefield Wildcats, even if his men could have made it two. In the end, it took a last-gasp Joe Westerman conversion to earn the 20-20 draw after a late Kirk Yeaman try for the Black and Whites. The scores had been level at 6-6 at half-time, with Richard Mathers responding to a try from Hull's Setaimata Sa in a tight opening period. Richard Horne crossed the whitewash and Yeaman's first effort saw FC go back ahead, before Chris Riley and Reece Lyne again saw the hosts level and Nick Scruton's effort put the Wildcats ahead for the first time in the 74th minute. "We set out every week trying to get the two points and I thought with five or six minutes to go that opportunity had slipped, so to come away with a point was pretty pleasing," said Radford, whose side sit four points off eighth-placed Widnes. "I thought we started the better side but momentum certainly swung their way in the second half. They are a tidy side when they've got a bit of momentum and some wind in their sails. "Our points difference is better than theirs (Widnes) so we are four points off the play-offs. We said before this week we can't afford to slip up and the same rule applies."
