HULL'S biggest family photo album has gone back on display, this time in the city's Ferens Art Gallery.
The pop-up People's Gallery exhibition first featured in last year's Heritage Open Days event in Hull.
Featuring hundreds of images from the Hull Daily Mail archives, it attracted about 12,000 visitors during a four-day show in an empty shop unit in Whitefriargate.
Now the exhibition has moved into the Live Arts Space at Ferens Art Gallery until next Thursday.
Mail journalist Angus Young, who came up with the idea of the exhibition, said: "We had such a tremendous response from the public during the four days in Whitefriargate that we decided to do it all again.
"Even though we had a great response, I know many people missed the opportunity to see it last time so they can now see what they missed the first time around."
The exhibition features a variety of images from the Mail archives, ranging from the days of the city's fishing industry and royal visits to protests over slum housing conditions.
It has taken up a pop-up residency in Ferens to coincide with today's celebrations in the city centre marking the 100th anniversary of the creation of the title of Lord Mayor of Hull and city's success in winning the bid to become the UK Capital of Culture in 2017.
Angus said: "The city council asked whether we could stage the exhibition as one of the attractions for this weekend and we were delighted to be able to help out.
"We're also hoping to update The People's Gallery with some new images in time for another pop-up exhibition at this year's Heritage Open Days event."
The display panels used in the exhibition have been designed and installed by InterTech Media, of Priory Park, west Hull.
The People's Gallery at Ferens runs until Thursday, July 3, alongside the popular touring Curious Beasts exhibition.
The gallery, in Queen Victoria Square, is open from 10am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday and 1.30pm to 4pm on Sunday.
