An update of people convicted and sentenced in the courts in Hull and the East Riding.Mark Lythe, 41, of Robin Close, Brough, was jailed for eight weeks for stealing groceries worth £198.46 from Sainsbury's Supermarkets Ltd. There was no order for costs or compensation.Daniel Cooksey, 20, of Newland Homes, west Hull, has been ordered to complete 100 hours of unpaid work for using threatening, abusive and offensive words, causing people to believe violence would be used against them. He was also ordered to pay £85 costs and a £60 victim surcharge.Stuart Conway, 44, of Hull Road, Anlaby Common, west Hull, was fined £200 for failing to stop after being involved in an accident with another car and causing damage. He was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.Leanne Fallon, 28, of Waveney Road, east Hull, was given an 18-month conditional discharge after failing to tell Hull City Council she was now living with James McCracken, which affected her entitlement to housing benefit and council tax benefit. She was also ordered to pay £80 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.Darren Priestley, 30, of Great Thornton Street, west Hull, was fined £400 for smoking a cigarette on part of a railway at the Hull Paragon Interchange, where smoking is not allowed. He was ordered to pay a £40 victim surcharge and £40 costs.Juris Tomass, 27, of no fixed abode, was fined £55 for being drunk and disorderly in a public place.Mark South, 49, of Calderdale, Sutton Park, east Hull, was given a 28-day prison sentence, suspended for six months, for shouting and swearing at a community support officer in front of members of the public, while subject to an antisocial behaviour order. He was ordered to pay an £80 victim surcharge.Janis Ubags, 26, of Adelaide Street, west Hull, must carry out 100 hours of unpaid work and pay £500 compensation for damaging a Toyota Yaris car belonging to John Moor. The damage cost £550. He was also fined £55 for being drunk and disorderly.
