Jake Livermore fee agreed | Hull City fixtures After failing in their bid to sign Joleon Lescott, Hull City will turn to the European market in the search for a new central defender, with Espanyol's Hector Moreno a potential target, according to The Sun. Steve Bruce is tracking the Mexican star, 26, and is preparing a bid of £6.2m, the Currant Bun claims. Moreno, who has won more than 50 caps, is playing at the World Cup and starred in Tuesday night's draw with hosts Brazil. But Tottenham are also interested in the former AZ Alkmaar man, according to the Daily Mail. Mauricio Pochettino worked with the stylish defender at Espanyol and is keen on a reunion. Spurs are looking to strengthen their defence, with stalwart Michael Dawson likely to move on this summer. If a move for Moreno sounds unlikely, after seeing his number one target Lescott sign for West Brom, Bruce may yet turn to Dawson, if the price is right. City are also hoping to sign Sheffield United's Harry Maguire, but securing a more seasoned defender is high on Bruce's summer shopping list.Fee agreed for Jake Livermore Hull City have agreed a fee with Tottenham for Jake Livermore, the club announced this afternoon. Bookies have priced Steve Bruce at 25-1 to be the next England boss, after the Three Lions' early exit in Brazil.
Gary Neville (8-1) is favourite to take over should Roy Hodgson step down, ahead of Harry Redknapp (10-1) and Jose Mourinho (12-1), while some bookies were offering odds of 33-1 on Scot Sir Alex Ferguson coming out of retirement to mastermind an England revival.
The FA has pledged to stand by their man, however, and it looks almost certain that, after blooding promising youngsters such as Raheem Sterling and Ross Barkley, Hodgson will continue rebuilding towards the European Championships.Bruce set to push through Snodgrass deal
Steve Bruce is ready to push through a deal for £6.5m-rated Norwich City winger Robert Snodgrass, according to today's Mirror. Figueroa unable to rescue Honduras
Maynor Figueroa's Honduras look set to go out of the World Cup at the group stage after losing 2-1 to Ecuador.
A brace from Enner Valencia saw Ecuador come from behind in Curitiba after Carlo Costly opened the scoring following a lively opening period.
A long-range strike from Hull City defender Figueroa was the closest Honduras came to rescuing a point but, despite the defeat, they can still mathematically progress from the group.
That outcome would, however, be reliant on them beating the Swiss next week in Manaus, as well as other results going in their favour.
Costly's goal was Honduras' first in the World Cup in 32 years.![]()
