THE future of Hull KR pair Wayne Ulugia and Jonny Walker is in doubt following a breach of club rules.
The Mail understands the duo broke club drinking regulations and have been left out of Craig Sandercock's 19-man squad to face Bradford at Odsal tomorrow night as a result.
Their punishment is unlikely to end with a one-game omission as Rovers' board consider further action, which is expected to include a substantial fine.
Both Ulugia and Walker took part in training on Tuesday, but it's believed their futures at the KC Lightstream Stadium are being called into question following the incident.
Ulugia is no stranger to ill-discipline. After signing for KR, he was looking forward to a new start after a chequered past in the NRL whilst at North Queensland Cowboys.
The 22-year-old seemed to have the world at his feet after scoring six tries in just four games at the end of last season for the Cowboys.
But his contract was ripped up just a week before the start of this season for continual misconduct breaches.
Despite his scoring achievements, not one NRL club showed any interest in Ulugia, even though he was a free agent.
Ulugia was investigated by Townsville police at the start of this year after a woman's handbag was stolen during a night out.
A year and a half before that, he was fined for an assault in a nightclub.
Signing for KR until the end of the 2015 season was seen at the time as a risk by the Robins, but coach Sandercock took a punt on him.
Ulugia showed glimpses of his potential after making his Super League debut in the 34-29 defeat to Widnes, and scored his only try in the 54-12 loss at Castleford with a last-gasp interception.
Walker, who joined his brother Adam at Rovers in the off-season from Castleford, has had an injury-hit start to life in East Hull.
A knee injury in his third game against his former club sidelined him for seven matches before he returned against Widnes.
The latest breach of discipline couldn't come at a worse time for Sandercock, who is already missing six first-team regulars through injury and retirement.
Jamie Langley's season is over after rupturing his patella tendon in the 34-4 defeat to Warrington, whilst Kevin Larroyer and Jordan Cox are still a month away from returning from ankle injuries.
The enforced absence of the two players has prompted Sandercock to turn to untested Sonny Esslemont for the crucial clash at Bradford.
Currently tenth and three points adrift of the top eight, the Robins will face an uphill battle to make the play-offs if they lose to the Bulls tomorrow night.
Rovers have a poor record at the manager-less Bulls, with only one Super League win from seven trips to Odsal.
