A FATHER and son were bitten by a dog and beaten in an unprovoked attack at an east Hull petrol station.

They were attacked by two men who had stood in front of their car and refused to move.

The father, 46, was hit over the head with a torch after confronting the men. When his son, 21, intervened, he was assaulted and bitten by one of the attackers' two doberman dogs.

Detectives hunting the pair have released CCTV images taken from the Sewell service station in Holderness Road, east Hull, where the attack happened in April.

Detective Constable Justin Marrow, of Hull's priority crime team, said: "This was a nasty attack on the father and son and we need help to identify those responsible. The victim was on the petrol station forecourt in his car when his path was blocked by two men.

"He got out of the car and there was a conversation, which led to him being assaulted. He was punched in the head before being hit over the head with a torch.

"His son then got out of the car and intervened but was also assaulted. He was then bitten by (one of) the dogs."

Police are also hoping Mail readers will be able to identify two young boys wanted in connection with a theft of a mobile phone that had been left on a counter in Burger King.

The two boys had been standing behind a woman in the queue, who left her Samsung Galaxy on the counter. CCTV footage shows the boys taking the phone and leaving the restaurant in the Prospect Shopping Centre, city centre.

Detectives also want to identify a man who headbutted a shop worker at Mini Mart in Silver Street, city centre.

Two men who conned a shop worker at The Paper Shop in Holderness Road, east Hull, into handing over £180, are wanted.

Police are also looking for a man who stole £1,400 of mobile phones from O2 at St Andrew's Quay in west Hull.

DC Marrow said: "I would ask people to take a look at the pictures and call us if they recognise anyone.

"Some of these pictures are really clear, so we are hopeful people will be able to identify them.

"We need the help of Mail readers to try to find out who is responsible for these crimes, which may otherwise go unsolved."
