Acity blues and rock'n'roll band are going back to the future for the launch of their debut album Ink.
Crooked Lizard hope it will be a heavy night for all as they turn to the classic 1980s film as inspiration for the gig at the White Rooms.
Mike Sheriff, bassist, said: "We're all 100 per cent revved up for it.
"We've received some great feedback from a large amount of people.
"We believe that people should make their on mind up about us, so why not come down and check us out?"
The hardworking band are dressing the city centre venue up as the 1950s prom scene from the American comic science fiction film.
The band's connection to the 1950s, the decade Marty McFly travelled back in the film, started long before the gig.
Mike, who also celebrates his birthday at the launch gig, said: "When producing the album, we tried to create something new by using vintage techniques and equipment such as a 1978 Silver Face Fender Twin Reverb amp, hot rodded with JBL speakers and a 1950s all- original Fender Stratocaster guitar."
Mike got together with vocalist and guitarist Tom Hemmings and drummer Roberta Lawson at university last year as a project.
"We realised we work really well together and wrote some catchy songs, so decided to go for it and we officially became Crooked Lizard in September last year," said Tom.
"Our huge range of personal influences are coming together really well, and we think we've progressed really quickly to the point that we are at – to have merchandise, an album, gigs all across Yorkshire and tonnes of great material and slots at the top festivals."
The band, whose influences come from bands such as The Black Keys, AC/DC, Howling Wolf and Led Zeppelin, are among the local talent set to shine at this year's Hum- ber Street Sesh on Saturday, August 2.
They also recently featured in the local heroes section of Kerrang magazine.
Roberta said: "I am so proud and amazed at how far we have come already and we are just going from strength to strength, playing some amazing festivals and gigs this year.
"A big future aim for me is to hear people sing our songs back to us – that would just be the greatest feeling."
It is an aim Tom agrees with.
"Yeah I would love to be at a festival and hear everyone sing back Cheeky Fly, that would be a great future aim for this band," he said.
Support at the album launch will be from Gunpowder Plot.
