Hull FC back-rower Liam Kent has signed a deal with Championship side Featherstone Rovers until the end of the season following limited first-team action.
The 23-year-old has struggled with injuries in recent seasons and is yet to play for the first-team this season, and will now join the resurgent Rovers until the end of the season when his contract expires in a view to earn a new deal elsewhere.
Kent becomes the latest player to join Featherstone from Hull, with Jason Crookes and Chris Green both on loan at the Big Fellas Stadium, playing under former FC coach Andy Hay.
The academy graduate, who has been on dual registration with Doncaster, has been informed his deal won't be renewed by the Black and Whites, so has moved to West Yorkshire with a view to earning a new deal elsewhere.
Despite letting him leave the club, Hull coach Lee Radford had nothing but praise for Kent whom he had coached at a lower-level.
"Liam is a fantastic kid and a fantastic professional," Radford told the Mail.
"I had the opportunity to play with Liam when I was here and coached him throughout the 20's. I hope some of the players have what he's got because he's made of the right stuff.
"Wherever Liam plays or applies his trade he gives 110%. He's been a pleasure to deal with and a great competitor."
Motu Tony, FC's football manager, added: "Liam leaves us with our best wishes and has a good opportunity to restart his career with Featherstone.
"He came through our ranks here and is a good professional, but his chances in the first-team here have been limited.
"We have decided not to renew Liam's contract at the end of the season, so the move presents a good chance for him to earn a new deal and continue his career elsewhere."
