Blackpool v Hull City team news: Rosenior may replace Elmohamady

Ahmed Elmohamady is Hull City's major doubt today after limping out of the 2-0 win over Leeds with a calf injury. The 25-year-old has been an ever-present since joining on loan from Sunderland, and should he be forced to sit out, will be a big miss on City's right flank. Thankfully, with Liam Rosenior waiting in the wings, City have one of their most consistent performers from last season to call upon. Bruce will also be able to recall son Alex today if he so wishes after he served his three-match ban. However, the form of Abdoulaye Faye, James Chester and Jack Hobbs in defence could force the returning centre-back to wait his turn. City have plenty of options in a near fully-fit squad should Bruce feel the need for alterations. Tom Cairney, Nick Proschwitz and Paul McShane could all claim to be due their turn, with the likes of Paul McKenna, Aaron Mclean and Andy Dawson often failing to even make the bench. Despite today's game being the fourth in 12 days, Bruce is unlikely to ring the changes ahead of an 11-day break from Championship action, with an FA Cup date with Leyton Orient next week.Blackpool have begun 2013 with unhelpful speculation linking both Alex Baptiste and Tom Ince with January moves away from Bloomfield Road. Baptiste has reportedly been the subject of a £1m bid from Championship rivals Leicester, while Ince has been widely tipped to return to Liverpool in a £6m switch. Both featured in Saturday's 4-2 loss at Middlesbrough and despite the unwelcome speculation, the star pair were expected to retain their places for the visit of the Tigers this afternoon. Elsewhere, Blackpool welcome back midfielder Isaiah Osbourne for the opening game of 2013 for a game they can ill-afford to lose if fading promotion hopes are to be kept alive. Osbourne missed the trip Middlesbrough as he served a one-match ban for collecting five yellow cards this season and with 20 appearances to his name this term, should come straight back in. Michael Appleton has a sizeable squad to select from and may choose to shake up his options as he looks to end a run of three games without a win over the festive period. However, both defender Ian Evatt (knee) and winger Matt Phillips (toe) remain on the sidelines with injuries.
