COULD Matty Fryatt be on his way out of the KC Stadium? Even though the Tigers are keen on keeping hold of their reliable frontman, Sky Sports are reporting that Nottingham Forest are in talks with the forward after Fryatt turned down an improved offer to stay at City last week. Steve Bruce sees Fryatt's signature as a priority as back-up to first-choice strikers Shane Long and Nikica Jelavic. However, Forest look to be leading the way to snapping up the striker.Stuart Pearce is desperate to bolster his attacking options after seeing a number of forwards leave the City Ground at the end of last season, and he has made Fryatt one of his top targets. A whole host of other clubs lie in wait, though. Former club and newly-promoted Leicester are hopeful of tempting Fryatt back to the Foxes, whilst Burnley are also handing him a Premier League lifeline.Wigan, Brighton and Scunthorpe United are all refusing to give up hope on his signature.Sidwell undergoes Stoke medical as Tigers miss out THE Tigers look set to miss out on former Fulham midfielder Steve Sidwell as he undergoes a medical at Stoke today, according to the Daily Mail. Sidwell has not been short of options since being released by Fulham with Leicester City, West Ham United, Sunderland, Newcastle United, Southampton, Crystal Palace, West Brom and QPR all chasing the 31-year-old. Initial reports suggested that Sidwell was hoping to remain in London, however it looks like the former Fulham man will be set for a move to the Midlands. However, if reports are to be believed it appears that Mark Hughes have won the race for the much converted midfielder. Signing a two-year-deal, Sidwell's arrival is expected to seal the departure of Steven N'Zonzi, according to The Mirror.Horswill: Davies is type of player Sunderland need FOLLOWING speculation of a move elsewhere in the Sunday papers, Curtis Davies is still attracting potential suitors as Hull City remain desperate to keep hold of their star-man.Newcastle offered a cash plus player deal worth £8m, but their rivals Sunderland also remain interested in the defender. And Black Cats legend Micky Horswill says Davies is exactly the player Sunderland need to progress in the Premier League. "Curtis is the sort of player we do need. We need experience - the players that have been in the Premiership," Horswill told Sky Sports Radio. "In the past, we've bought players from all over the world, from France, Senegal and South America and they don't know the Premiership. "It's a completely different meat to anywhere else in the world, and I do think you have to have some experienced players in your side that know what it's all about. "And Davies, from Hull, although I don't think he'll leave Hull, he's the strong force in their side. "I can't imagine Steve Bruce to let him go to be honest, and he's his captain as well. But I do think that's the sort of player we need.Ferdinand set to sign £80k deal at QPR AND finally, after Steve Bruce took the link with former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand lightly, QPR are making no jokes with their offer for the 35-year-old. The Hoops are considering making Ferdinand the highest paid player at the club with a salary of up to £80,000 a week, according to The Guardian. Once the most expensive defender in the world, the former Leeds United man looks set for a final payday at Loftus Road.
