More than 5,000 runners hit the city's streets today for Jane Tomlinson's Hull 10k.
From passionate runners to charity fundraisers, the event brought the city together.
In first place was Steve Bateson, from the East Hull Harriers running club, who finished in just 33 minutes and 20 seconds.
Close behind him was fellow club member Alec Gibson, who crossed the finish line after 34 minutes and 15 seconds and in third place was Mark Kendall, who took 34 minutes and 30 seconds.
Steve, from Hornsea, said: "I am really pleased. I was aiming to come in the top few so to come first is great.
"It is the first time I have done this event and it was really good.
"There were people all the way around, cheering us on. It was a great atmosphere."
The event raises thousands of pounds for a range of different charities, with many runners doing it for causes close to their hearts.
Among them were Suzanne Watson, 41, from Bransholme, and friend, Kayleigh Petherbridge, 27, from Holderness Crescent, in Beverley.
Kayleigh, a mother of three, was raising money for Breast Cancer Research UK after finding a lump in her breast.
After numerous hospital tests, it was found to be benign but the scare was enough to spur her on to complete the race.
She said: "It was a really scary time for me and the family so it means a lot just to be here and to be able to do it.
"The atmosphere has been great."
Suzanne ran the race in memory of her father Kenneth Ramsay, who died of cancer three years ago.
She said: "It was my first time so I was really nervous but I know my dad would be really pleased and proud of me."
