RICHARD Whiting will bid to win back his Hull FC place by pulling on a Doncaster shirt on Sunday.
With the Black and Whites having no game because of their Challenge Cup exit, Whiting will make his Donny debut at Barrow as part of FC's dual-registration agreement.
And Dons coach Paul Cooke, who played alongside Whiting at the KC Stadium, believes his presence can only be good for both parties.
He told the Mail: "He needs a game and we are short on numbers, but what we are getting is a player of great experience and it's a big step for some of our players to be playing alongside him.
"Having Rich with us will really help our side, not just against Barrow but going forward as a club because of the experience he brings.
"What it does is give my players an insight into what it takes to be a Super League player. It's what he does off the field, on the coach to the game, what he eats, how he spends his time before a game, those little conversations with our players in the build-up, it's all massively beneficial to our squad."
Having been missing in recent weeks because of a hamstring problem, Whiting is eager to regain some much-needed match fitness.
If the 29-year-old comes through his run-out at the Raiders tomorrow, the utility man will return to Hull training on Monday to fight for a place against Widnes on Friday.
With Chris Tuson back from injury and Setaimata Sa now at the club, Whiting is aware his Doncaster stay could be extended beyond just one game, something Cooke is certainly open to as his team bid to cement their place in the top four of the Championship.
"However long we have Rich for, whether it's one week or two or whatever, it's just great for us to have that extra experience," he added.
"I'm looking forward to playing alongside him once again, it's been a while since we were last in the same team."
