HULL CITY are in the market for Swansea captain Ashley Williams, according to the Mirror.Steve Bruce hopes to win the chase for the Welsh international by offering him a second successive season of Europa League football.
The Swans skipper is approaching the final 12 months of his contract at the Liberty Stadium and could be available for a cut-priced £4m fee.
However, Bruce is said to be offering around £5m in a bid to beat QPR to his signature.
There are contrasting reports as to what the Swans are doing with their star player.
The South Wales Evening Post say Garry Monk's men plan to offer Williams a new deal and have already begun negotiations with the player.
"We're in negotiations with his representatives and trying to put a deal across so that Ash will be here for the future of the club," Monk said.
"I know Ash wants that, I want that, the club wants that and that's what we're working towards as we speak."
Still, that doesn't stop the Mirror saying the Swans will sell Williams and look to cash in on the defender.Canaries keen on keeping SnodgrassNORWICH City consultant Joe Royle says the club are desperate to keep winger Robert Snodgrass despite reported interest from Hull City.
The Scotland international was one of the few players to shine last season for the Canaries, who saw their three-year Premier League stay end with relegation.
The likes of Newcastle United and the Tigers have been linked with moves for Snodgrass as a result, but Royle, appointed as a consultant to Neil Adams on Monday, remains hopeful the former Leeds United captain will remain at Carrow Road.
"We are all hoping he will be here next year," Royle told TalkSport.
"He's got a great attitude and we think very highly of him. I'm told that right to the last whistle of the last game he was doing his best to win a game for Norwich. He's the type you want around.
"It would be nice if we could keep the majority of players that Neil knows but there will inevitably be one or two departures and there will be two or three incoming players."Meyler rests as Republic of Ireland hit the States
