Jamie Shaul has signed a new five-year contract at Hull FC that ties him to the club until the end of the 2018 season. The 21-year-old full-back still had 18 months to run on his current deal but has been rewarded for cementing his place as Hull's first-choice full-back with an improved deal that ties his long-term future to the club. It's only the third time in the last 10 years Hull have handed out a contract of this length, with Tom Briscoe and Danny Houghton the other two previous recipients. "It's unbelievable signing a deal like this, I'm over the moon and couldn't believe it when they offered me the contract," Shaul told the Mail. "This is my club, it's where I want to be and to play for Hull is a dream come true, so to sign for so long is an amazing feeling for me." Hull coach Lee Radford was instrumental in Shaul signing a new deal only last year, with former coach Peter Gentle considering letting the ex-Skirlaugh player leave with Shannon McDonnell already on the staff. However, Radford has put his faith in Shaul and sees the young player as one of several academy graduates who he can build his new-look team around moving forward and made tying his future to Hull a priority.
