HULL KR full-back Greg Eden says he has his sights firmly set on securing an England call-up whilst at the Robins.

The former Huddersfield man is one of many young stars signed by the Robins for 2013 and beyond.

He believes coach Craig Sandercock is building a strong squad with a mix of experienced pros and promising youngsters

And the 22-year-old hopes that will help him achieve his goal of pulling on his country's shirt in the coming years.

"Having a young squad can benefit us because we all have good engines," Eden told the Mail.

"We have a lot of class players in the squad and some good overseas stars, so we should gel very well.

"The squad is looking good and I think it's better than last year's. There is a lot more skill in the squad also and, unlike last season, we're not starting from scratch as it is Craig's second year as coach.

"My expectation levels are pretty high personally and I want to be in the top two full-backs in the country.

"I got picked for the Knights and hopefully one day I can play for England. I've not spoken to Steve McNamara as yet but hopefully I can be in his thoughts.

"I was 18th man in Belfast when the Knights played Ireland and due to an injury, the squad was reset and I got to play at centre."

This time last year, Eden was settling in to life at Huddersfield, where he started the season very well with seven tries in 11 games.

And having spent a week of training in Tenerife with the Robins before Christmas he feels ready to get started in Super League.

"It was good to get out there and train in such conditions and facilities," he said.

"It's beneficial to go on a camp because it gives new players that extra time to get to know their teammates well ahead of the season."
