THE trial of a teenager accused of killing his grandmother has collapsed.
Lewis Dale, 17, has been on trial accused of murdering his grandmother Irene and stabbing his grandfather Allan as they were lying in bed.
However, this afternoon the jury in the case was discharged for legal reasons.
A retrial is expected to be held next year.
Irene, 78, was pronounced dead at the scene, while Allan, 80, suffered serious injuries.
