Two thieves tried to steal a child booster seat by smashing a window of a Landrover Discovery parked in Princes Avenue, west Hull. But they were caught in the act by a passer-by who chased them down the street.
The Landrover's owner heard its alarm go off and returned to the car to find the booster seat on the pavement. Nothing else had been stolen.
It happened on Sunday at about 5.50pm. Police would like to speak to two people who challenged the thieves, and any other witnesses. Call 101, quoting crime reference DT/2009902/13.
