EAST YORKS: Those who want to get to grips with grapes and enjoy a tipple while fundraising can sign up to a wine-tasting and auction.

Cellar Door in Wyke Way, Melton Business Park, is hosting the event to raise money for Dove House Hospice's Love You 2 Appeal.

The evening will begin with a glass of fizz on arrival, then an auction with ten lots for people to bid on.

There will also be a wine-tasting and a light buffet.

All proceeds from the ticket sales, auction and 10 per cent of all purchases will be donated to the hospice.

The event takes place on Monday, September 30, from 7pm to 9.30pm.

EAST YORKS: A dental practice is supporting Mouth Cancer Awareness Day by holding free screenings for the public.

Perfect 32 in Ladygate, Beverley, is hosting the event on Thursday, from 8.30am to 5pm.

The team is urging everyone to take up the offer and be screened for mouth cancer for free.

EAST YORKS: Rock Challenge is returning to the Humberside Police region.

Entry has opened for the performing arts competition next year.

Local heats take place in March and April next year at The Spa Bridlington, Grimsby Auditorium and Hull Arena. The finals will be held in Grimsby in June.

The last competition saw 48 schools take part across five heats, involving 3,428 students.

E HULL Entertainers, volunteers and donations are needed for a coffee morning raising funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The event takes place on Saturday, September 28, from 11am to 3pm at the Meyers in Chamberlain Road.

Nicky Lister, who has organised the event, said: "It is in memory of my beloved dad, Tony Walker, who lost his battle in 2011 to this awful disease. Any donations or volunteers for entertainment or helping hands on the day greatly appreciated."
