Our daily blog with the latest news, transfer rumours and gossip about Hull City in the Premier League.Bruce on Moyes. He's the best of British He may be feeling the rising temperature under Britain's hottest manager's seat but Hull City boss Steve Bruce has backed David Moyes to be a winner with his former club Manchester United. Sir Alex Ferguson's successor had the toughest act in the footballing world to follow but despite a rocky start Bruce things the Red Devils have got the right man. Bruce, who won three Premier League titles during his time in Manchester, told Alan Brazil on TalkSport: "He's the right man for that job. Whoever took over that job, it was a very hard act to follow. "I'm delighted that Man United have gone down the David Moyes route. He's come up through Preston and then did remarkably well with Everton." And Bruce warned against bringing in too many foreign manager's to the English game. Chelsea and Manchester City both took the foreign recruitment route this summer. Bruce said: "If we're not careful there's not going to be any young British managers, all the jobs seem to be going to foreign managers. "I have nothing against it but we need to encourage the young British manager. It's a very difficult industry." Moyes has struggled to resolve the issue of wantaway striker Wayne Rooney and failed to impress many fans with his summer signings, missing out on Cesc Fabregas, Thiago Alcantara and Ander Herrea.Cardiff keeper joins McGregor as a doubt Maybe it's something in the Highland Spring. Both Hull City and Cardiff are having injury problems with their Scottish keepers ahead of tomorrow's clash at the KC. With Allan McGregor still struggling with an injury it looks as if he may have to turn to back-up keeper Steve Harper, fresh from his star studded testimonial, to take his place between the sticks. But Cardiff's Scottish first choice is also struggling. The Western Mail in Cardiff reports that keeper David Marshall is struggling for fitness after injuring his hip on Scotland duty, ironically a game he played in to replace McGregor. Cardiff rate Sullivan 50/50 on making the team but he will travel to the KC. If Sullivan can't shake off the knock, Cardiff will have to reply on deputy Joe Lewis who would be making his first Premier League appearance. Boss Malky Mackay also said new signing Peter Odemwingie will be in the squad travelling to Hull. The former Wet Brom striker was long-linked to a Hull City move through the summer before signing for the Welsh club. Mackay, who has no other injury doubts, said he's expecting a tough game with the Tigers. "Hull have started well," he said. "We know them well and realise how tough a task it is."Quinn: Break helped our new players settle City midfielder Stephen Quinn has revealed that City's new squad are getting on well despite a flurry of coming and going in the summer. The Republic of Ireland midfielder is hoping to make an impact on the City squad after a hamstring scuppered his chances early season. But Quinn has no issue with new signings coming ion and competing for places. He told hullcityafc.net: "The new lads are gelling well, even though we had a couple who didn't sign until late on. "The international break has also helped with that and they've taken on board what we're trying to do." And he's confident the new squad can now go on a run. He said: "Hopefully we can string a few results together now. We've got a much stronger squad than last season and the lads have put in two great performances against Norwich and Manchester City. "I've got to work hard now to try and get into the gaffer's plans. It's about working hard in training and seeing where we go."Sone dribbles into top place And some stats before the weekend? Well new signing Maynor Figueroa seems to be making his presence felt in the Tigers' defence. Although signed for his attacking attributes as much as his defending the Honduran leads on number of tackles made by City players with 10. Meanwhile on the other side of the pitch, Ahmed Elmohamaday is proving his value with the most passes completed in the opposition half, 86. And we always knew he was a bit classy, and when he's not being booted by the opposition, Sone Aluko is dribbling. According to the EA Sports statistics Sone was the leading dribbler in the Premier League before the international break, with four against Manchester City.
