MATTY Fryatt has been given the green light to leave Hull City during the emergency loan window as he bids to find regular first-team football in the closing months of 2013. Fryatt has found himself down the attacking pecking order this season and had been set to leave the KC Stadium on deadline day when given the chance to join Nottingham Forest on loan.

The lack of long-term security on offer resulted in Fryatt rejecting a move to the City Ground, but City boss Steve Bruce remains open to the prospect of the striker leaving. Forest have been joined by Championship rivals Barnsley in the chase for his services this week as Football League clubs get to work in the emergency loan window.

The final decision will be Fryatt's but Bruce is keen to see the striker back in action after 2012-13 was ruined by an Achilles injury.

"I've had the conversation with Matty and the thing I said to him is that he's been out for a year," said Bruce, who is yet to include Fryatt in a Premier League fixture this season.

"We've got six games in 11 weeks so if there's a chance for him to get out playing then I'm not going to stand in his way.

"With Forest I'm not sure what the situation was. They wanted to take him on loan but I don't think Matty was keen to go there on loan.

"For one reason or another it didn't happen so we'll wait and see what happens over the next 10 days or so. Barnsley have also made an enquiry (yesterday) but I can't see that one happening."
