COACH Peter Gentle says new signing Jordan Thompson is a perfect fit for Hull FC's policy of signing young, hungry and English players.
Thompson, 22, has penned a two-year deal with the Black and Whites after making 71 appearances for Super League rivals Castleford Tigers.
Starting out as a utility back, covering every position in the back line, Thompson has since developed into a mobile back rower.
Gentle told the club's website: "We've made no secret of the fact that long-term we want to develop a squad of young, hungry and English players here that can be the nucleus of the side for years to come.
"Jordan fits that bill for sure. He progressed well as a youngster through the national setup and in time I believe will be pushing for full honours with the Knights and ETS squads.
"He's developed into a strong edge back rower at Castleford having started life in the backs.
"He's quick, mobile and has good game sense and with a tall frame he can develop into a useful addition to our back row."
Thompson scored 25 tries for the Tigers, having joined from amateur side Normanton Knights as a youngster.
