Hull FC have stepped up their recruitment plans for next season by agreeing deals with two new as yet unnamed players, according to Adam Pearson. After finishing the regular season on a low note with a home defeat by St Helens, the Black and Whites owner revealed that Hull have signed a former rugby union back and a Polynesian forward, with deals expected to be confirmed this week. Pearson was speaking at the club's end-of-season awards dinner, where he gave a passionate address to fans and sponsors about his hopes to improve their league standing in 2014. At this stage it is not yet known who the two unnamed players are, but they are expected to compliment the arrivals of Castleford's Jordan Thompson and Jonathan Walker, who could be unveiled as early as later today or tomorrow. Andy Lynch is also expected to be leaving the KC Stadium to head in the opposite direction after agreeing a two-year deal with the Tigers. Meanwhile, the awards dinner saw vice captain Danny Houghton walk away with Players' Player of the Year for the third successive season, while also winning the Player of the Year accolade for the first time. Richard Whiting was the Supporters' Player of the Year for the third successive year, with Tom Lineham crowned Young Player of the Year. Academy head coach Andy Last was given an outstanding contribution award.
