NORTH Ferriby boss Billy Heath was delighted after toppling Conference North leaders Hednesford Town 3-0 with a fine display and some clinical finishing.
Two goals from Anthony Wilson and one from Jamie Yates sealed the victory to take Ferriby to fifth place in the table.
"It was a superb all-round performance," said Heath.
"We dominated from start to finish against a very good team.
"The goals were the highlights of the game but the win was built on a dominant midfield and defensive performance."
The Villagers stunned Hednesford with a goal in the first minute.
Paul Robson's throw-in was back-headed by a defender to Nathan Jarman who laid the ball off to Jamie Yates, who curled his shot inside the far post.
Ferriby's early pressure nearly brought two further goals with Town keeper Dan Crane punching a Yates free-kick off his line under pressure, then saving Danny Hone's low shot following another Yates free-kick
Ferriby keeper Adam Nicklin was alert enough to beat Neil Harvey to a through ball and then made two fine saves from long-range shots from Kris Taylor.
Taylor looked the most likely player to score for Hednesford, but the visitors found it hard to break through Ferriby's midfield and defence.
Long and high balls were generally easily dealt with by Ferriby, who doubled their lead on the stroke of half-time.
Yates' cross found Wilson and he controlled the ball beautifully before beating a defender to slide the ball past Crane.
The second half was a more subdued affair with Ferriby's defence and midfield largely controlling the game.
Crane made a superb diving save in the 46th minute to deny Jarman what would almost certainly have been a match-clinching goal for Ferriby.
Harvey's shot straight to Nicklin midway through the half was Hednesford's only effort on target.
These were the only efforts of note in the second period as Ferriby closed out the game to secure another fully deserved three points.
The third and final goal came in the 90th minute as the Hednesford defence was ripped apart by Paul Robson, Liam King and Dean Lisles, whose final pass left Wilson with the task of scoring into an open goal.
