A WOMAN has told how she thought she was going to die when she was subjected to a terrifying sex attack in her home by her martial arts instructor.
Self-defence instructor Marcus Da Silva broke into her home, grabbed her by the throat, sexually assaulted her and attacked her, leaving her covered in blood.
Da Silva grabbed a large kitchen knife and threatened to cut her face before forcing her into his car at knifepoint.
It was only when he collected another student that the student managed to persuade Da Silva to take the woman to hospital, giving her the chance to raise the alarm with a police officer on duty at the hospital.
As De Silva was led away from Hull Crown Court to begin a ten-year jail sentence, the woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, said: "He battered down my door on a sunny day when kids were playing in the street.
"He is an absolute psycho.
"I thought that my life was going to end."
Da Silva, of Blenheim Street, west Hull, was a martial arts instructor, holding classes in Hull, the East Riding and York.
He met the woman in a class and when she rejected him, he went round to her home.
The terrified woman begged him to end her ordeal, pleading, "Just kill me and stop torturing me like this".
A jury of eight men and four women at Hull Crown Court convicted Da Silva of false imprisonment and sexual assault after deliberating for more than five hours.
He had already admitted subjecting the woman to a violent attack.
The woman said she had no chance to defend herself when Da Silva arrived at her home.
"He barged through my door and grabbed my throat and attacked me," she said. "He just punched and punched me. I could see my eyelids swelling and just pouring with blood.
"I thought he was going to beat me to death in my bedroom."
With no end to the attack, the woman tried to jump through a window to escape Da Silva's clutches.
"I was thinking I'm going to break my legs and back but I didn't care – it was better than being in there with him.
"I thought it was never going to end."
After subjecting her to an hour-long attack, the woman was then forced into the back of his car at knifepoint.
"I was stuck in the back of a three-door car, I was so scared," she said.
"When he agreed to take me to hospital, I felt a bit safer but he didn't leave my side."
Da Silva took her to Hull Royal Infirmary but then pretended to be the man who saved her, not the man responsible for her terrible injuries.
"He carried me in to the hospital like a hero and told them he had just found me like this in my home," she said.
"The nurses sensed something was wrong and told him to step outside. As soon as he was gone, I told them to get the police. I was so scared but so relieved."
The woman now lives in fear of Da Silva coming after her again.
She said: "I'm happy justice has been done. I'm glad the jury saw through him and he is going to get what he deserves.
"He is totally unpredictable.
"When I met him, he appeared really nice but it didn't take long before he became controlling.
"He would tell me to remove make-up and earrings and tried to tell me what to wear. He thought that was acceptable.
"He started ringing and texting me 30 times a day, it was just constant. He said I was in love with him and he could see it in my eyes.
"He is absolutely deluded. I was scared of him but I thought he would go away.
"I'm glad he is going to be locked up but I am scared he will kill me when he is released."
The police are applying for a restraining order to ban Da Silva contacting her when he is released.
Da Silva was acquitted of threatening to kill the woman and of a further sexual assault. His victim wept as the jury returned their guilty verdicts.
