HULL KR coach Craig Sandercock could be set to hand Super League debuts to two rising young stars as he looks to protect his key stars ahead of the play-offs.

The Aussie coach has made no secret of the fact he won't risk any first team regulars carrying knocks when facing London at MS3 Craven Park tomorrow.

That saw him draft in full-back Josh Guzdek and hooker Connor Robinson, both 18, from Stanley Gene's under-19s squad.

"I know we have had a bit of time off because of the Challenge Cup, but some of the players have played a lot of full matches at a sustained level," Sandercock told the Mail.

"A couple of them might need a rest so we'll have a look at that."

Captain Michael Dobson is one of the stars who could be rested, even though he has expressed his desire to play, given it is his last chance to play in front of the Robins' fans at MS3 Craven Park.

The skipper injured his ankle in last week's 36-22 defeat at Widnes and may not be risked with the play-offs less than a week away from starting.

Having lost stand-off Travis Burns to a broken arm last week, it leaves Sandercock with a big decision as to who to play in the half-back positions.

"We have a lot of options, but I can't say what they are because we're still toying with them at the moment," he said.

"I have three definite options which is good and I'll make my mind up on Saturday morning."

Whatever side he selects, the Aussie coach will demand a better start then at Widnes last week.

"You don't want to be falling behind on the scoreboard early in the game," he said.

"It can be off-putting for the younger players to concede a couple or three tries and it can make you lose your composure a bit."
