A FOOTBALL referee was punched in the head when he sent a player off during a game.
The 56-year-old man was concussed after he was attacked while refereeing the match in Bridlington on Sunday.
He was punched twice in the head by a man he had just shown a red card to.
Police are now appealing for information about the assault, which happened at around 2.40pm at the Matson Road playing fields.
Any witnesses are asked to call Humberside Police on 101.
