WHEN you think of motorbikes you think of leather jackets and tattoos.
But this cute bunch are more into scratchposts and catnip.
The three kittens – or as Meatloaf would say "Cats Out Of Hull" – have all been named after motorbikes.
Ducati, Honda and Suzuki were found abandoned in a box in Bransholme with three other kittens.
They have now been taken in by the RSPCA, where staff named them after motorbike makes, in honour of their upcoming motorbike show.
When the trio arrived at the charity's Clough Road base, Suzuki was in a bad state.
"She was really lethargic and we thought we were going to lose her," said animal care assistant Carina McLean.
"We put food by her mouth, but she wasn't interested at all.
"She had to go straight to the vet and has been monitored very closely.
"But thankfully, she managed to pull through and has perked up a lot now."
The three kittens were originally in a group of six when they were found in a box in Dorchester Road on August 22.
Carina said: "Some clearance men from the council found six of them in the box when they were clearing out a house.
"They took them back to the council depot, and one of their colleagues offered to take three of them.
"So they brought the other three to us to look after."
When the kittens arrived, they were riddled with fleas – something that was rapidly making the five-week-old kittens poorly.
"They were covered in fleas, which were sucking all the blood out of them and making them really anaemic," said Carina.
"They were all really scared and they were shaking and cold.
"They needed fleaing and worming and we had to give them lots of love."
Now, a week later, the kittens could not be more different and love nothing more than playing with each other and getting into mischief.
"They love running around and playing with their toys," said Carina.
"They like their scratching post."
Suzuki, a grey and white female, has now made a full recovery.
Ducati is her black brother and Honda is her black and white sister.
The RSPCA believe the litter were dumped because the owners had a cat that had not been neutered, and could not afford to keep the kittens.
Carina said: "They would have died if the council workers hadn't heard them crying.
"We think someone didn't have their cat neutered and couldn't cope.
"We're getting a lot of this type of thing at the moment.
"I cannot emphasise enough the importance of getting your cat neutered.
"It is absolutely vital, so we don't get things like this happening."
Honda, Suzuki and Ducati are nit quite ready to be rehomed, but when they are nine weeks old they will be available for £69 each.
The cost will cover their neutering, worming, chipping and defleaing.
In the meantime, they are being cared for at the RSPCA Clough Road site, where staff are preparing for their annual Motorbike Show.
On Sunday, September 8, dozens of motorbikes will be on display.
Motorbike entry and registration takes place from 11am to noon and public entry is from noon. Entry costs £1 for adults and 50p for children.
