JOE Dudgeon believes the sky is the limit for Hull City team-mate Robbie Brady as he bids to take the Premier League by storm.
After making his top-flight debut in the opening weekend defeat at Chelsea and scoring the winner to sink Norwich 1-0 last Saturday, Brady continued his memorable start to the season with an extra-time goal to see off Leyton Orient in the Capital One Cup.
Brady's efforts ensure the Tigers will travel to Manchester City on Saturday with spirits high and Dudgeon is excited by what the season has in store.
"Robbie has got unbelievable talent and this year will be great for him," said Dudgeon, who emerged through the Manchester United youth ranks alongside Brady before joining City.
"He'll be able to show people what we've known for a long time. The ability he's got, he can go as far as he wants.
"He's had it for years, ever since I first saw him come over from Ireland as a 16-year-old to join Manchester United.
"We've seen it already and this year should be brilliant for him. Like a lot of the young players we've got, he can showcase his talent in the Premier League."
Brady's late winner at Brisbane Road granted Dudgeon a winning return to action almost 11 months after his last competitive outing.
Knee surgery ruled Dudgeon out of City's promotion march out of the Championship, but an arduous rehabilitation culminated with a long-awaited run out in the capital.
"It was good to get more than 90 minutes on a personal level. It'll be good for me and good for my legs. It's been a while so it was an ideal for me," Dudgeon said.
"I just approached it like I would do any game. It's nothing to worry about. Playing football is something I've done every Saturday for as long as I can remember.
"It wasn't the best game quality-wise but we got the job done in the end. It wasn't the best display, but we came away with a win."
Much has changed since Dudgeon started the first 11 games of Steve Bruce's reign last autumn. As well as seeing Brady assume his left wing-back role last season, Premier League veteran Maynor Figueroa has arrived to claim the left-back slot this term.
A Capital One Cup third round meeting could be Dudgeon's next chance to remind Bruce of his ability, but the 22-year-old will bide his time.
He added: "It's a great squad we've got and you've got to take any chance you get. Whether it's the League Cup or the Premier League, you've got to make the most of it.
"I was just happy to get a game and hopefully more will come of it.
"As a squad we're all on a high playing against some of the best teams in the country. We want to show we deserve to be here. With the first win against Norwich, hopefully we can take that into the Manchester City game at the weekend."
