EAST YORKS: Radiance Beauty and Tanning Salon is helping to ease the tired feet of a dedicated runner from Hull, who is clocking up more than 2,000 miles for charity.
Paul Legard, 27, is running 2,013 miles for the Smile Foundation, which helps charities in East Yorkshire with funding and advice.
Paul, who is currently more than halfway through his epic challenge, has been treated to a voucher for a foot-pampering pedicure from the salon, in Beverley's Trinity Lane, to help keep his feet in tip-top condition.
Penny Higbee, who manages the salon, said: "We heard about Paul's challenge and were very impressed with his determination, so we wanted to give him a treat.
"I'm sure his feet must be in need of some TLC after all that running, so hopefully this will soothe some of those aches and pains."
Paul works for Hull City Council's Building Schools for the Future and their partner, Hull Esteem Consortium, chose the Smile Foundation as its charity of the year.
EAST YORKS: More than a dozen medical students are now starting their careers as junior doctors at Northern Lincolnshire and Goole Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (NLAG).
The trust, which manages Scunthorpe, Grimsby and Goole hospitals, has recruited 17 Hull York Medical School students – the highest number for any trust in the region.
They all spent five years studying at university on hospitals sites across East Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire, as well as GP practices.
In their fourth year, all students had the chance to apply for jobs and more chose to work at NLAG.
HULL: An event to mark National Older Persons Day is being held at the Guildhall on Tuesday, October 1.
Silver Dreams and partner organisations are putting on entertainment and a tea dance from 10.30am to 3.30pm. Everyone is welcome.
