EAST YORKS: Vital funds will be raised for a life-saving hospital ward at a charity event this Friday.
Held at the Goodfellowship Inn, Cottingham Road, north Hull, money will be raised for Ward 15 at Castle Hill Hospital.
There will be burlesque dancers, performances by band Farewell Fairground and solo artist Rob Crawford, a disco, raffle and tombola and an optional meal.
Organiser Jackie Hinchcliffe said: "We still have tickets available so the more the merrier."
Tickets cost £16, or £10 without the meal, and are available from the Goodfellowship Inn or Jackie on 07794 279457.
HULL: Summer fun will help raise funds for animal charities at a beach party this weekend.
Pets At Home on St Andrew's Quay, Hull, are holding the event to raise money for Cats Protection League, Jerry Green, the RSPCA and other animal causes.
Staff will be dressed in beach wear and invite customers to enjoy beach ball games, hook-a-duck, raffles, and ice-cream.
The event is running from Friday to Sunday.

HULL: The next meeting for Hull and East Riding Arthritis Care will be today.
The group always meets on the fourth Wednesday of the month at St Mary's Hall at the Endsleigh Centre in Beverley Road, north Hull.
The meeting is today from 12.30pm and everyone affected by arthritis is welcome.
There will be Tai Chi from 12.30pm, a general meeting with speakers, demonstrations and refreshments from 1pm to 3pm and an optional art and craft session from 3pm to 4.30pm.
