NORTH Ferriby boss Billy Heath was delighted with the response of his side after seeing off big-spending Boston United in a 3-0 home win.
The Villagers bounced back from Saturday's 5-0 reverse at Harrogate to gain a well-deserved three points, thanks to a brace from Nathan Jarman after Gregg Anderson's 40th-minute opener.
But whilst the scoreline had a one-sided look to it, Heath was also glowing in his praise for his defence.
He told the Mail: "It was important to get a result against Boston for our confidence. We deserved to win and we never really looked in danger.
"We were very solid and we did the right things at the right time."
"Adam Nicklin's save at 2-0 was unbelievable and crucial and it was important that we kept a clean sheet.
"The two centre halves were magnificent and didn't miss a thing. It's a win which was about us being right defensively."
The first half was entertaining if a little scrappy at times, but when Anderson rose highest to head home in the six-yard box, it was deserved.
The Villagers stunned Boston with a second goal within a minute of the second half restarting as Jarman latched on to a clearance and fired home a low cross-shot that sneaked in at the far post.
This spurred Boston into action and Nicklin's a superb diving one-handed save from Scott Garner's header kept it at 2-0, before Jarman sealed matters in the 81st minute with a low drive.
