MUSICIANS and entertainers from across the country have joined forces to stand up to cancer.
A total of 15 acts descended on The Red Lion Pub in Driffield over the bank holiday weekend for a special charity event organised by East Yorkshire couple Steve Dodds and Shirley Sowersby.
After a successful music fundraising event last year, which raised £787 for Stand Up To Cancer, Steve and Shirley decided to make this year's event bigger and better.
Ms Sowersby said: "Everyone knows somebody who has been affected by cancer in one way or another, so this is the perfect charity to raise money for."
The fundraising afternoon was opened by seven-year-old Lily Rose Botham, of Driffield, who has been in remission from cancer for eight months following treatment in America.
Mr Dodds said: "We had an amazing line-up of entertainers, with 15 music acts, zumba displays from Kaleigh Sewell Zumbafitness, Hula Hoop displays from Hula Rouge, which is starting classes in Driffield very soon and magic by local 19-year-old magician Magic Aleks Pawinski.
"These people gave their time for free and I can't thank them enough."
The crowds were entertained by performers including folk singer-songwriter Nick Rooke, blues artist Lindsey Simpson and rock band LS3.
There was also a barbecue, a bouncy castle, face-painting, nail art and a tombola and raffle.
