Brad Rial rounds up the latest from the Norwich City camp ahead of Hull City's crucial Premier League clash on Saturday.
Norwich City club captain Sebastien Bassong looks set to make his return from injury against Hull City.
The former Newcastle and Tottenham man played 90 minutes last night for the Under-21 side (despite being 27) and his return will be a boost for manager Chris Hughton.
He is likely to partner former Tigers star Michael Turner at the heart of the Canaries' defence. Turner was a huge fans' favourite during his time at the KC and will no doubt receive a warm welcome if he features at the weekend.
Meanwhile, Hughton is keen to protect his teenage sensation Nathan Redmond after a dazzling debut against Everton at the weekend.
The tricky 19-year-old winger is expected to provide a tough test for the Tigers' defence if he starts at the KC on Saturday.
But Hughton knows he will need to ration the performances of his young star to get the best from him.
He told the Eastern Daily Press: "Do I expect him to play a full Premier League? I probably don't want him to play a full Premier League season
"At the right times you want to be able to take him out. I am very conscious of what this league is. He showed what he is all about (against Everton). He will continue to go through a learning curve."
Is Hughton happy with his strikeforce?
Norwich have already splashed out around £20m on transfers - including the signings of Gary Hooper and Ricky van Wolfswinkel, who scored on his debut at the weekend - but they are by no means done, if the latest rumours are to be believed.
Reports suggest the Canaries have tabled an offer for Galatasaray striker Johan Elmander. The 31-year-old, who English supporters will remember best from his spell at Bolton Wanderers.
Hughton also continues to be linked with a move for Juventus striker Fabio Quagliarella - but could be pipped to the post by West Ham.
While Saturday represents City's first realistic chance to get some points on the board, Norwich should not be underestimated. They have strengthened significantly in the summer and will provide stiff opposition at the KC.
