HULL City are believed to be launching a club-record bid to sign Tottenham midfielder Tom Huddlestone.
With midfield reinforcements now viewed as essential by boss Steve Bruce, Huddlestone has emerged as a key target ahead of the new season's start on Sunday.
It is not yet known how far advanced talks are with the 26-year-old or how much the fee would be, but any figure is likely to surpass the £5m paid out to Fulham for Jimmy Bullard back in January 2009.
The former Derby man could also be joined at the KC Stadium by Spurs team-mate Jake Livermore, who is being hunted on a season-long loan deal.
