Fire crews were called out to flooding in Beverley at 3am this morning.
They attended Willow Grove next to York Road where water flooding off the Westwood threatened houses for the second time in three weeks.
Crews are expected to remain in the street until early afternoon.
The problem has been caused by heavy rain falling on already saturated land.
Although today is expected to be drier, more heavy rain is forecast for Saturday.
A flood warning remains in place this morning for low-lying land on the banks of the River Hull.
The Environment Agency said farms and properties were at risk in an area including Watton Carrs, Emmotland, Wansford and Frodingham Bridge.
It said the level of Frodingham Beck, near Driffield, had reached 1.3 metres and would remain high throughout the day.
Environment Agency officers are monitoring water levels in Holderness and say flooding is possible. However, it said pumping work should keep Holderness Drain "at a reasonable level".
There was better news for Pocklington this morning, where the agency cancelled its flood warning for properties on Main Street and Canal Head.
Lesser category flood alerts - meaning residents should be aware of a risk of flooding - remain in place for Stamford Bridge and other communities around the lower River Derwent, for the River Foulness and Market Weighton Canal and for the tidal River Ouse.
