HULL City will run the rule over Egyptian under-20s international Mahmoud Kahraba upon their return from Germany this week, manager Steve Bruce has revealed.

The 19-year-old forward has been identified as "one for the future" by Bruce and has a week-long trial ahead of the new season.

Kahraba is currently on the books of Egyptian side ENPPI, the same club where Ahmed Elmohamady was spotted by Bruce.

The chance to follow in the footsteps of compatriots Elmohamady, Gedo and Ahmed Fathi at the KC Stadium appeals to Kahraba, but Bruce admits the lack of full international status could jeopardise hopes of obtaining a work permit.

Bruce said: "He's going to try and come over to us when we get back from Germany but the difficulty for all these young players, especially a young Egyptian, is getting work permits.

"He's someone we've been made aware of and he's a very good player, but getting him into the country long-term will be a problem. There's the possibility of a special talent permit, but he's one for the future."

First Bruce will make a judgement on City's current trialist, Eric Tie Bi.

Despite only arriving at the Tigers' team base on Saturday morning, the Evian midfielder was given 28 minutes as a substitute in a 1-0 win over Dynamo Dresden.

Another assessment will be made when City face Eintract Braunschweig tomorrow night.

"With all the conversations we've had with Evian (when signing Yannick Sagbo) in the last couple of weeks, we've said to him we'll have a look at him," said Bruce.

"He's come here for a few days. He did well, I thought he was excellent. He'll play some part again tomorrow.

"There would still be a bit to do. I don't think they'll just let him go. We haven't explored that just yet. We'll cross that bridge if and when we come to it."
