Huge crowds have been enjoying a free music festival in Hull city centre today. More than 160 acts are performing across a dozen stages at the Humber Street Sesh festival. The music and comedy continues into the early hours at the Fruit Market and Marina. Organisers say about 25,000 people are expected to attend in total, with at least 17,000 already through the gates by 4pm this afternoon. A full programme of events can be downloaded here. The festival, which also includes graffiti art, street food and a programme of cult cinema, was set up to celebrate creative brilliance in Hull.
Tracey Rhodes, 47, went the the Sesh with her son Ben, 23, a student at Hull University, and four-year-old grandson Jayden. She said: "It's brilliant. The atmosphere has been fantastic, it's a great family day. The music and the stalls have been excellent." Organiser Mark Page said: "To see about 500 creative people come together for this is amazing. "It's been overwhelming and I'd like to thank all of the sponsors who have supported us this year." Bands appearing today include Mammal Hum, Fonda 500, Black Delta Movement, The Talks and The Holy Orders.See dozens more pictures from the Humber Street Sesh here.
